Something is wrong with us relying on social media platforms to get our Amazon news.
They are inherently designed to keep the user on the site for as long as possible.
Which is the opposite of what your goal should be.
Your goal is to consume high-quality, trustworthy information, in a short period.
And action it in your business.
But on LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and Facebook, we're bombarded with eye-catching information which distracts us from doing work.
We've all logged on "for 5-minutes." And lost 30.
Content creators are rewarded if you spend more time on the platform.
They, therefore, create in a way that ensures it does take longer to consume their update.
And it's not getting better. Your screen time data confirms it.
Which means you're spending less time doing deep work.
What if though:
And you spent 2-minutes reading a bullet point summary every Monday.
Which linked back to the original post. Was updated daily in a clean Amazon focused news feed. And had an RSS.
I'm George Reid, founder of George's Blog - an Amazon agency.
And that's exactly what we've been doing for years.
Example: Week 09 - 2024.
